Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Illustrator’s Award
The Canadian Association of Children’s Librarians presents the Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon award annually to an outstanding illustrator of a children’s book.
Applied Arts Magazine Photography Awards
Applied Arts magazine publishes the winning work and features it on the online winners gallery.
Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Award
This annual award is presented by the Canadian section of the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY). The award is given for the best picture book illustrated by a Canadian and published in either French or English in Canada.
Governor General’s Literary Awards
The Canada Council offers two annual illustration awards; all books for young people written or illustrated by a Canadian citizen in the previous year.
Libris Awards: Children’s Illustrator of the Year
The Canadian Booksellers Association presents this award to a Canadian illustrator who demonstrates artistic merit and creativity while complementing and enhancing the storyline of a literary work for children in the previous year.
Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award
The Canadian Children’s Book Centre inaugurated the Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award in November of 2006. The award is presented to Canadian children’s literature targeted toward 3 to 6 year olds.
National Magazine Awards
The National Magazine Awards Foundation (NMAF) is a bilingual, not-for-profit institution whose mission is to recognize excellence in the content and creation of Canadian magazines through an annual program of awards.
Norma Fleck Award for Children’s Non-Fiction
The Norma Fleck Award is exclusively a non-fiction prize. The award will go to the author unless 40% or more of the text area is composed of original illustrations, in which case the award will be divided equally between author and illustrator.

Chocolate Lily Book Awards
Chocolate Lily Book Awards for best picturebook and novel/chapter book by British Columbia's authors and illustrators voted by school children.
Christie Harris Illustrated Children’s Literature Prize
Awarded to the author and illustrator (who reside or have lived in B.C. or the Yukon) of picture books, picture story books, and illustrated non-fiction books. The prize is shared by the author and the illustrator.

IODE Book Award
Municipal Chapter of Toronto IODE has presented an award intended to encourage the publication of books for children between the ages of 6 and 12 years. The award is given annually to a Canadian illustrator or an author.
International
Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award
The Swedish government founded the Lindgren award and the prize is the largest offered in the field of children and youth literature. The award honours authors, illustrators, storytellers, people, and organizations that promote reading.
Hans Christian Andersen Awards
IBBY presents the Andersen award annually to an author and an illustrator whose complete works have made lasting contributions to children’s literature.
