Associations that are Members of the Book and Periodical Council may participate in the Group Benefit Plan for their staff. Having a benefits plan helps your Association recruit and retain staff. It also provides excellent coverage and protection for your employees. The Book and Periodical Council Plan provides comprehensive benefits from Canada Life and RBC Insurance. Through the Canada Life plan, employees are able to claim for health, dental, and vision-care costs for themselves, their spouses, and their dependents. The RBC Insurance plan insures the employee for long-term disability and death and dismemberment. The plan is renewed annually. Each year the costs of the plan are reviewed annually by Gallagher and periodically put out to the market to ensure best coverage and cost. The plan is administered for the book and periodical community by the Book and Periodical Council. A small monthly administrative fee is charged to cover bookkeeping costs of plan administration. Booklets that provide full details of the coverage and benefits of the plan are available from the Book and Periodical Council. To participate in the plan your association must be a member of the Book and Periodical Council. National associations representing a major sector of the book and periodical community join the Book and Periodical Council as Full Members.
