Magazines Canada is Canada’s leading professional magazine industry association, representing over 300 of the country’s consumer titles. The member-driven, not-for-profit organization strives to serve Canadian magazines of all scope and size through ongoing advocacy and special initiatives. It also offers extensive member services such as small magazine direct-to-retail distribution, nationally delivered professional development, communications, marketing and advertising services.

Major Programs

School for Professional Publishing
This program is designed for people in all magazine disciplines who want to further their publishing careers: Publishers, Sales Staff, Editors, Managing Editors, Art Directors, Circulators, Production Staff, Magazine Start-ups.

School for Advertising Sales
This program teaches the value of print advertising and provides the tools and skills necessary to bring more advertising dollars into your magazine.

School for Circulation
This is Canada’s premiere training program for circulation professionals. Learn the tools, tips and techniques that will help you create a successful circulation strategy for your magazine.

Magazine Intensives
Magazine Intensives are day-long seminars designed to bring industry experts and magazines together in cities across Canada.

Travelling Consultants
The Magazines Canada Travelling Consultants program matches magazine experts with Magazines Canada members across the country for exclusive, one-on-one consultations.

Small Magazine Workshops
The Small Magazine Workshops are developed for small and cultural magazines. Presented in four different cities per year, this travelling series of workshops will assist your small magazine to achieve success.

Flying Squad
The Flying Squad program awards funding that can be applied to consultants and projects that address internal organizational challenges, explore growth opportunities and chart future developmental directions.
