Canada’s Magazine Media and Writers Working Together to Grow Skills and Business Opportunities

Magazines Canada and the Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC) are enhancing their professional development and marketplace partnerships beyond working together to create curriculum for MagNet, Canada’s annual magazine media conference.

Magazines Canada is now developing stronger links to PWAC’s brand-new platform, designed to connect writers and editors: This exciting new online resource is now available for free to Magazines Canada members for a trial period.

“ is an inspiring new initiative with the tools writers and magazines need to connect with each other and do business,” said Mark Jamison, CEO of Magazines Canada. “ is yet another example of how magazines and writers can work together for the benefit of both.”

In addition, PWAC members will soon have access to the Magazines Canada webinar archive, comprised of hour-long sessions of interest to professional writers from design to editing to award-winning writing.

“Today’s professional writer is developing more and different skills in a changing media marketplace,” said Sandy Crawley, Executive Director of PWAC. “Access to this rich webinar resource adds value for PWAC members, and we look forward to offering our own curriculum input in the development of future webinars.”
