The CLA Speaks out Against cuts to School Libraries

In recent weeks, there has been extensive media coverage on the declining number of teacher-librarians in Canada, beginning with the announcement of eliminating school library staffing and making serious cuts to school library services and resources in the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board in Ontario.  The Canadian Library Association (CLA) has been monitoring these developments, and is concerned about the status of teacher-librarians across the country.

Magazines Canada Celebrates Volunteers from Across the Country

Magazines Canada has announced that BC’s Clélie Rich, Alberta’s Claire Lacey, Manitoba’s Deborah Morrison, Ontario’s Eithne McCredie, Québec’s Catherine Resch and Atlantic Canada’s Sharon Resky have been named Volunteers of the Year for 2010 by five regional magazine associations from across the country and join Jessica Ross, who was named Magazines Canada Volunteer of the Year for 2010
